SWISS CELLO ASSOCIATION
MISSION
Since the association was founded in 2021 and held its inaugural concert on 27 October as part of the Geneva Competition, we have continued to develop projects,
meetings and concerts.
Our ambition is to encourage cello playing throughout Switzerland and to raise the profile of talented cellists
who have been trained in our country for 4 generations.
Open to the world, just like our small country, the association also helps to organise charity concerts to support cellists who have been affected by the difficulties of conflict and war,
as has been the situation in Ukraine since February 2022.
HISTORY
The association regularly organises meetings, concerts, and commission arrangements, and celebrates the great Swiss pedagogues or those who have lived and taught in Switzerland, such as Guy Fallot in 2020.
Partner of the Geneva Music Competition for the 2021 edition, the association has awarded the special Guy Fallot prize to
one of the semi-finalists chosen by the Competition’s jury.
Prix Guy Fallot
Among the semi-finalists at the 75th edition of the Concours de Geneve is the 23 years old Swiss cellist Samuel Niederhauser, who has been honoured with the Guy Fallot Prize, which was kindly provided by the Swiss Cello Assocation.

In memory of our Dear colleague
Prof. Antonio Meneses
In 2025, Swiss Cello Association will be holding a Swiss Cello Day in Geneva and Neuchâtel, and a tribute concert to Antonio Meneses in the presence of the great cellist Rafael Rosenfeld.
We sincerely wish that this cello day and this memorial concert can be spread throughout Switzerland. More information on the progress of this project will be announced shortly.
